As the Senior School Welfare Officer, you will take a leadership role in promoting and safeguarding the health, safety, and emotional well-being of students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Medical Care & First Aid:
  • Managing and administering first aid, including responding to emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining individualized medical care plans for students with specific needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Emotional Well-being:
  • Providing one-to-one emotional support and guidance to students dealing with social, emotional, or mental health challenges.
  • Acting as a key contact for students requiring additional pastoral care.
  • Facilitating well-being workshops or small group interventions to promote resilience and positive mental health.
• Family and Community Liaison:
  • Working closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure students receive holistic support tailored to their needs.
  • Maintaining clear communication channels between families and the school regarding welfare concerns.
• Safeguarding:
  • Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) by identifying and escalating concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Monitoring at-risk students and maintaining comprehensive records of interventions and support provided.
• Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Reviewing and updating welfare and safeguarding policies to ensure best practices are upheld.
  • Leading training sessions for staff on welfare, mental health, and first aid awareness.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Ensuring all records related to medical care, first aid, and welfare support are accurate, confidential, and up to date.
