Our client is seeking a Senior Scientist to join their R & D Team based in the East Anglia area. The role includes project management, technical support and running day to day laboratory.
Qualification & Experience
- PhD in Molecular Biology/Genetics or related experience, with significant post-qualification experience and project management skills.
- 3 -5 years’ experience in managing or supervising technical staff.
- Expertise in Design of Experiment (DOE), process improvement, and assay Quality Control process development.
- Experience with automation in molecular biology processes.
- Extensive experience with molecular biology technologies such as next generation sequencing (NGS) in a commercial setting.
- Proven track record in developing In vitro diagnostics molecular biology products.
- Experience in novel chemistry and technology development.
- Familiarity with ISO13485 standards, product design control, and product life cycle management.
- Demonstrated experience in regulated, diagnostic environments.
Duties
- Lead and manage molecular biology projects, ensuring smooth transitions between project phases, technical leadership, and successful project delivery.
- Develop and improve new and existing products, provide technical expertise, and present findings at scientific meetings.
- Oversee technical aspects of internal and collaborative research projects, including meetings, product development, market analysis, and patent applications.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, information security, and quality standards; maintain and update necessary documentation.
- Perform other tasks as required.
The Senior Scientist will demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work individually under own initiative as well as within a group with a common goal. The ability to communicate to with all levels of management is essential.
