Job Description :
This role has a starting salary of £59,868 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. This is an 24 month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity.

We are excited to be hiring a Senior Service Designer to join our fantastic new Transformation Design Team. The role will be on a hybrid basis, meaning a blend of working from home and from our Reigate offices.

About the Team

Surrey's Transformation Design Team was set up in early 2024 to grow and embed Design across the Council. Our team encompasses different types of Design expertise from Organisational Design to Service Design and Design Research.

We partner with teams across the Council providing hands-on Design support and Design coaching. Current projects include; improving Home to School Transport, increasing community-based support for residents on adult social care waiting lists, turning resident insights into action and setting up a Strategic Design Authority to bring constructive challenge and support to council wide priorities and programmes.

About the Role

You will be leading Service Design work across the Customer Transformation Programme. By 'customer' we mean anyone that might live in Surrey, travel through it, learn here, work here or care for someone in Surrey.

The Customer Transformation Programme will deliver services that we are proud of, that are efficient, make the best use of our resources and above all that make a positive difference in people's lives.

In your role you will be part of multidisciplinary teams who are tackling specific challenges across Surrey's Directorates. The role will initially be focused on projects within the Environment Infrastructure and Growth (EIG) Directorate, so if you are interested in improving transport, safety and sustainability then this role could be a very good fit for you!
