As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be part of our Homes Platform Team, working as a member of the Data & Pricing Lab, delivering solutions to customers and colleagues to support our transformation to a data driven organisation.

We’re looking for someone who has a skill set in Systems Analysis, Data, API design & development and Cloud deployments and is willing to learn and develop their skills across the entire software development lifecycle from ideation & analysis through build and testing and onwards into production. You’ll have an inquisitive mind, and your curiosity will be your guide as you dig deep into our existing architecture and technology to devise new solutions using modern strategies and cloud-based technologies.

What you’ll do

  • Dig deep into technical challenges across the existing ecosystem to solve business problems for the Homes platform and Commercial team across a variety of use cases to provide valuable solutions to our customers and colleagues

  • Work closely with the Quality Engineers and provides a joined up approach to development and testing of solutions.

  • Sets conditions for a continuously improving engineering experience to thrive

  • Own your development plan and seek opportunities to continuously improve yourself and others within the team.

  • Ensure work within the team is in accordance with the values and behaviours and risk parameters of the bank.

  • A natural facilitator and decision-maker, you'll enable cross team collaboration within the Lab and other Platforms.

What you’ll need

  • Proven Software Engineering Skills

  • IT skillset with experience of delivering software products and solutions is essential

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exposure to IT solutions across various systems, technologies, and data sources

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to drive the bank's IT application suppliers and partners to ensure that those customer goals are understood and appropriate solutions are delivered in a timely fashion

  • Knowledge of the Mortgage business is an advantage
