Senior Systems EngineerDevon/ Hybrid Working£60,000 + Excellent BenefitsAn innovative electro-optical specialist company based in Devon is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their growing Engineering team.If you have systems engineering experience within a defence engineering (Or similar) company, then you could be the ideal candidate to help develop their high-performance targeting and surveillance equipment.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the systems engineering discipline within the engineering team.
• Support project managers.
• Identify cost and schedule reduction opportunities.
• Support the team in the analysis, breakdown, and derivation of requirements for lower-level subsystems and engineering disciplines.
• Provide system architectural designs and trade-off analyses.
• Take technical leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering design projects and provide guidance to other engineers during the development project phases.
• Lead design reviews with customers.
• Take a hands-on leadership role in the planning and execution of integration, validation, verification, compliance, and commissioning aspects of the products.
• Provide line management and career coaching of direct reports as required.
• To support bid activities, including contributing to proposals, providing technical expertise, and assisting in the development of competitive solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Demonstrable passion for the systems engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years’ experience of systems engineering on multidisciplinary projects.
• At least 5 years’ experience of cradle to grave product development, including verification and validation and beyond.
• Design experience in products requiring combined mechanical, electronic and software components.
• Proven experience of leading and successfully delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
• Good all-round practical understanding of electrical and electronics systems
