Service Charge Manager
Location: BirminghamSalary: Up to £43,000 per annumJob Type: Permanent
Are you an experienced service charge professional with strong leadership skills and a keen eye for financial accuracy? Our client, a well-established organisation in Birmingham, is looking for a Service Charge Manager to lead their team and oversee all aspects of service charge management, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellent stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to develop skills.
- Manage workloads effectively and address performance concerns in line with HR policies.
Service Charge Accounting & Compliance:
- Ensure preparation of annual service charge accounts in line with legal and regulatory standards.
- Manage reconciliation of service charge budgets with actual expenditure, ensuring accuracy.
- Liaise with property managers, clients, and external auditors on service charge matters.
- Ensure compliance with RICS regulations and other relevant accounting standards.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Financial Planning & Reporting:
- Prepare and issue service charge statements and budgets.
- Assist in forecasting and reporting on service charge income and expenditure.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyse financial data to support decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service charge accounting efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement & Issue Resolution:
- Manage queries from tenants, landlords, and stakeholders regarding service charge accounts.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues efficiently.
- Lead team meetings and calls to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
