Service Design and Transition Manager - SNG (Sovereign Network Group) : Job Details

Sovereign Network Group (SNG) is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Service Design and Transition Manager to join our Digital, Technology & Data Analytics team within our CIO Directorate. You'll take a hybrid approach working from home and in the office 2 days per week, and you can be based from either our Basingstoke or Wembley office.

The Role:

The Service Design and Transition Manager plays a critical role in leading the end-to-end design and seamless transition of new services, systems, and products into live/BAU environments, including line management of 1 direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive service design and transition frameworks.
• Ensure service designs align with business objectives, cost models, and technical standards.
• Lead the successful transition of new services, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to coordinate transition activities.
• Manage risks, deployment schedules, and business continuity plans.
• Oversee the creation of documentation, training, and support materials for BAU teams.
• Continuously seek opportunities for process optimization and service improvement.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships, fostering open communication and collaboration.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the Service Transition Lead, promoting high performance and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

• ITIL qualifications or experience in an ITIL-aligned organisation.
• Proven experience as a Service Design and Transition Manager, working in both waterfall and agile environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects.
• Expertise in service design and transition processes, from development to maturity.
• Experience managing 3rd party services and integrating them into end-to-end service designs.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong focus on quality management and successful delivery of design and transition artefacts.

• Experience within complex IT service environments.
• Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
• Proven ability to deliver results under pressure and meet deadlines.
