About the job:
This role involves the service, repair & installation of a product portfolio for UK and international customers that will require regular UK and international travel.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your role will include the following:
- Service, repair and technical support:
- Carry out telephone support and remote diagnostics of products to help identify issues and take necessary action
- Cary out pre and post sales technical support for
- Undertake the servicing and repair of equipment in-house or on-site in both the UK and internationally
- Manage customer relationships to resolve critical situations in the fastest way possible, providing the best possible customer service
- Management of customer and equipment information using appropriate systems
- Preparation of documentation including service reports, IQ/OQ, RAMS, method statements etc.
- Help to manage service parts inventory levels
- Provide service training for staff and distributors
- Installations and user training:
- Installing the larger or more complex equipment on customer sites: including reaction systems, circulators, synthesisers, evaporators, software etc
- Carry out post-installation user training, both on customer sites and remotely
- Prepare post-installation and user training reports
- General:
- Assistance in testing of existing and new products for QA, troubleshooting, R&D etc.
- Be prepared to carry out any other general duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the Technical Services team and the company in general
About you:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in an equipment service environment, preferably on laboratory instrumentation
- Broad experience of providing service and support to customers
- Experience of working to necessary Health and Safety requirements
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, instruction manuals etc. for electro-mechanical equipment
- Fully IT literate with standard Microsoft Office packages.
- Full driving license (no specialist license is required)
