Location: Uxbridge, London

Salary: £67,812 - £72,480 per annum

Job type: Full time, Permanent

Hours: 36 Hours per week

About the role:

Hillingdon Council is excited to announce the creation of multiple new Service Manager roles in response to national reforms and to ensure that family help is the focus of our transformation work. As a Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering services in accordance with legislation, National Standards, safeguarding procedures, and local policies. You will develop effective multi-disciplinary practices to maximise the use of resources and provide efficient and effective services to children, families, and carers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of services across all areas, ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships within the council and with external partners.
  • Manage and monitor financial budgets, ensuring expenditure is in line with council policies.
  • Oversee the recruitment, retention, and ongoing development of high-quality services.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring that service plans and performance targets align with statutory requirements and local priorities.

About you:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing and delivering services in compliance with legislation, National Standards, safeguarding procedures, and local policies.
  • Strong background in developing multi-disciplinary practices and optimising resource use.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining joint planning, service delivery, commissioning, and purchasing with other agency bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain strong partnerships within the council and with external partners.

  • Strong financial management and budget monitoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
