This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing company dedicated to safety, quality and sustainable practices. The role offers a chance to work on diverse projects, shape SHEQ policy and drive safety initiatives across the company’s operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive H&S procedures covering all operational areas within the company.
- Ensure the company’s Compliance Register remains current with all health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate training and toolbox talks on emergency procedures, workplace safety and relevant topics, collaborating with project managers to foster a culture of safety and awareness.
- Prepare Pre-construction and Construction Phase Plans, manage H&S files and provide CDM (Construction Design and Management) guidance.
- Prepare and oversee the development of method statements and risk assessments.
- Check and monitor subcontractor safety management, ensuring they meet all pre-qualification, certification and insurance requirements.
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure that standards are met.
- Monitor compliance with all safety and environmental procedures and track incident metrics.
- Maintain and update H&S policies and procedures to align with evolving industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare and submit all necessary environmental documentation.
- Help the company maintain ISO 9001 and 14001 standards, ensuring ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Attend internal and external meetings to represent SHEQ interests and run quarterly H&S meetings to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct audits of subcontractors and suppliers, verifying their compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Review subcontractor PQQ (Pre-Qualification Questionnaire) documents, qualifications and insurance details to ensure site readiness and safety compliance.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Background in construction health and safety.
- Membership with IOSH at Technical level or higher.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport for site visits.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to produce detailed reports on audits, inspections and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams, subcontractors and clients.
- Proficiency in developing and conducting training sessions.
