Shift Manager - Night Shifts
Location: Gloucester
Hours of work: 60h -week 1 ; 24h-week2 Shift : 1800-0600
Salary: Up to £40k -Depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
-To support and conduct all relevant employee relations meetings to include investigation, disciplinary and grievance
-Actively manage all employee performance ensuring that good performance is recognised and poor performance is managed
-Support a team in the delegating of workload, be flexible and reactive when managing breaks, absence and supervising the activities of the day to day operational needs of the business
- To manage attendance and controls absence including the cover thereof based on priority, flow and WIP, ensuring all required documentation is completed, including; absence notifications, RTW (return to works), absence review meetings are completed in a timely manner, collaborating with HR.
-Be active part in ensuring the cascade of information to relevant direct reports and that information is consistent, accurate and timely utilising such media as e-mail, verbal communication etc.
-Ensure that your team are fully trained and compliant in HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) process and procedures, signed off .
-To plan and supports recruitment, selection and induction needs for your team and support other teams where required
- To ensure the team are skilled to deliver and achieve production goals on time and in full, delivering individual training plans with succession in mind and manage resources to flex and adapt to cover requirements within your team
-Carry out regular/time defined employee appraisals, with your team members and support their growth and development needs
-Actively support and promote own personal development by attending coaching and mentoring sessions and be aware at all times of your development areas and agreed improvements
-Collaborate and work across the value chain supporting and optimising the wider needs of the business when required
Experience, attributes & skills sought:Leadership experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
People Management skills.
Engineering or Manufacturing background desirable
Previous experience of managing capital engineering projects
Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills (MS Office suite and MS Project)
IOSH Managing Safety Qualification
CMI/ILM Level 3 or equivalent leadership qualification
First Aid
Risk Assessment, COSHH and Permit To Work
Fire Marshall
Lean Sigma White Belt
Competency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy
Strong communication skills
