Site Engineer - Energy Project - Southampton

Randstad are recruiting for two experienced Site Engineers to join a major energy project in Southampton. These are long-term, and it is a great opportunity to work on a critical project within a leading construction company. Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience working on National Grid projects. This is a crucial requirement, as you'll be expected to understand the specific challenges and demands of working within the National Grid environment.
- Strong experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry. This includes a solid understanding of construction methods, processes, and best practices.
- Experience working on complex infrastructure projects, ideally involving energy schemes. This will help you navigate the specific technical requirements of the project.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: You will be working closely with a team of engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders, so clear and effective communication is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure: This role demands the ability to adapt quickly, identify solutions, and manage complex situations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Agent in overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, coordination, and execution of works.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of site staff, including technicians, surveyors, and operatives.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, particularly those relating to energy infrastructure.
- Manage and resolve technical issues that arise on site, ensuring timely and efficient solutions.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site surveys, drawings, reports, and safety records.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Desirable Qualifications:* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards for energy infrastructure projects.* Experience with construction software, such as AutoCAD and BIM.* A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering.
