An opportunity has arisen to join my clients highly regarded property team as a Social Housing Governance Solicitor on a hybrid basis from one of their 6 office locations in the Midlands and North West.
My client is a highly reputable, award winning, multi-service law firm offering legal services to individuals and businesses throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide specialist legal advice to clients in respect of Social Housing Governance and Charity law.- To undertake case work, and to manage all client work in accordance with the clients policies and quality standards.- To advise on the RSH standards and compliance.- To provide support to clients in respect of the requirements of registered charities and compliance with the requirements for the disposal of land and the Charities Act 2011.- To deal with charitable duties for both exempt and registered charities; provisions of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and registration with the Financial Conduct Authority and the Companies Act 2011 and registration with Companies House.- To advise on applications to the Charity Commission.- To support social housing providers on mergers between registered providers.
Requirements:
- Social Housing experience and a strong understanding of governance, charity and social housing law.- An ability to adapt to new areas of law, recognising that the law and sector can change frequently.- The ability to translate technical legal issues into clear and practical advice to clients.- Experience in managing and developing people.- Experience acting for registered providers of Social Housing.- Sound judgement with the ability to provide solution-based legal advice.- The ability to run a profitable case load.
This role is available on a hybrid working pattern from one of their 6 office locations in the Midlands and North west.
