Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media & Digital Content Editor specialising in Lifestyle/Specialist Sports. Within this role, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging content to support Pro:Direct content channels, producing high-quality written and visual content to tight deadlines. You will be a channel expert across key social channels, focusing on community growth/management. The role will proactively explore new content platforms and opportunities, demonstrating the ability to host or generate AV, Audio or 2D content when required. This role operates in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards and delivering key campaigns to tight deadlines.
What we need you to do as a Social Media and Content Editor:
- Create exciting daily content to engage, grow and inspire our audience.
- Manage and deliver the shared social calendar to support the growth of key social channels.
- Liaise closely with the Producers and wider Production Teams (Photography, Film etc) to ensure appropriate campaign content is deployed correctly and on time.
- Be flexible and work to the agreed rota to provide content support for key events, races and product launches.
- Be prepared to present audio and visual content, as required, hosting guests for Q&A sessions and insight sessions.
- Use insights to recommend new ideas to the Head of Content and suggest innovative ways to interact with consumers and subsequently contribute to successful audience growth.
- Applies Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), where applicable.
- Maintain an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of all relevant products/sports/events and trends.
Your skills as a Social Media and Content Editor:
- Meticulous attention to detail and has an in-depth working knowledge of grammar, punctuation, syntax, tone etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English essential.
- Computing competence (use of MS Office, internet, email etc)
- Previous employment in a copywriting position (or similar role) and experience in proofing text in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- A basic working knowledge of sporting goods, e-Commerce and SEO.
- 2 A-levels or equivalent qualifications. Educated to degree level in a Language-related subject/ or a Certificate holder in Marketing or Communications (desirable).
- Naturally creative with an ability to think conceptually.
