Job Title: Social Worker

Location: Enfield, London

Salary: £38,364 - £48,060 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks.
  • Collaborate with service users and support networks to develop holistic care plans promoting positive outcomes.
  • Offer direct support and intervention, providing practical assistance, advocacy, and emotional support.
  • Empower service users, respecting their autonomy and promoting self-determination.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safeguarding investigations in cases of suspected abuse or neglect.
  • Take necessary actions to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of vulnerable individuals, adhering to statutory requirements and council policies.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate support services and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and joint assessments to facilitate integrated service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant case records, adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and documentation for court proceedings and assessments.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including training and reflective practice.
  • Stay updated on legislation, policies, and best practices in social care to inform decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working in a social care setting, preferably within a locality or community-based team.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures governing social work practice, including the Children Act and Care Act.
  • Strong assessment and case management skills, with the ability to formulate and implement effective care plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with diverse individuals and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and establish effective partnerships with external agencies and service providers.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery, respecting the rights and cultural backgrounds of service users.
  • Resilience and adaptability in managing challenging and complex situations, prioritising the needs and safety of vulnerable individuals.
