We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sociology Teacher to join our all girls Catholic secondary school in Southend. This long-term supply position offers the opportunity for a permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching A Level Sociology, covering key modules such as Families and Households, Theory and Methods, Media, Crime and Deviance, and Education.

As a Sociology Teacher, you will help students develop critical thinking skills and engage them in meaningful discussions on the sociological issues that shape our world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach A Level Sociology, delivering engaging lessons across key modules including Families and Households, Theory and Methods, Media, Crime and Deviance, and Education
  • Support and guide students through their academic journey, helping them develop a deep understanding of sociological theories and concepts
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment that encourages open discussion and debate
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience for students
  • Prepare students for exams and assessments, ensuring academic progress and success
Requirements:
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching A Level Sociology, ideally with knowledge of the key modules
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to promoting the values and ethos of our Catholic school
