Job Description :

Are you passionate about growing top-quality crops and eager to sink your teeth into an exciting horticultural role? Our client is a family-run business near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, producing over 500 tonnes of raspberries and blueberries every season-and we're looking for a Soft Fruit Growing Technician to join them!

What You'll Be Doing:

This isn't your average desk job! Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be out in the fields, polytunnels, and glasshouses ensuring our soft fruit thrives. Your responsibilities will include:

Plant Husbandry & Growing

  • Helping plan what and when to plant.
  • Monitoring pruning (both winter and summer).
  • Keeping pests and diseases at bay.
  • Ensuring optimal pollination and growing conditions.

Monitoring & Testing

  • Sampling soil, leaves, and substrates for testing.
  • Researching new techniques and trialling innovative methods.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Collaborating with the Production and Irrigation teams to coordinate tasks.
  • Ensuring workers are in the right place at the right time to keep things running smoothly.
What We're Looking For:

We need someone who's as passionate about plants as we are, and ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience with soft fruit growing.
  • Knowledge of plant protection products (PPPs) and fertigation systems.
  • An NRoSo spraying certification (bonus points if you have it, but not essential).
  • A full driving license.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and planning skills.
  • The ability to work independently and a willingness to learn.

If you're a tech-savvy Microsoft Office user with farming experience-or transferable skills from a related field-we'd love to hear from you too!

What's in It for You?
  • A hands-on role where you can grow (literally and professionally).
  • The chance to work with cutting-edge growing techniques.
  • A close-knit, family-run business that values its team.
  • A beautiful rural location near Ross-on-Wye.

This is your opportunity to take on a role that's as rewarding as it is varied. You'll be at the heart of a thriving soft fruit operation, with the support of a knowledgeable team and the freedom to make your mark.

Ready to Join the Harvest?

If you've got the skills, the passion, and the drive, we'd love to hear from you. Let's grow something amazing together!
