Software Developer - Livingston (C#, WPF), £30K-£40K, hybrid, flexible working hours, annual bonus, private healthcare

The client have been providing leading edge software solutions to leading edge research institutes, academic and industrial facilities around the world. Their products combine customisation, user-friendliness, and high performance, and are experiencing higher-than-ever demand worldwide. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer to join their growing team.

The role

Reporting into the Software Team Leader, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of system software for their newly developed products.

Key responsibilities

• Gather requirements, design, code, test and maintain system software for Company products.
• Liaise with and support, through proper use of the defect tracking system, Software Testing.
• Produce manuals and support documentation for system software.
• Maintain full records and ensure safe keeping of all system software.
• Ensure that all activities comply with Company quality procedures.
• Propose, implement and demonstrate solutions to problems which may not, given the research and development environment, have clearly defined requirements.
• Provide support to Production and Sales teams, as required.

Requirements

• A degree in Software Engineering or related field
• Experience and working knowledge of C# (WPF)
• Solid understanding of OO design methods and patterns

Desirables

• Experience with database management (SQL and SQLite)
• Knowledge of other programming languages such as C++ and Java
• Graphics - Data visualisation
