About The RoleTeam – Health, Adviser and Employer - ITWorking Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in any of the Vitality Offices. Full time hours. We are happy to discuss flexible working!What this role is all about:Our Software Engineers are vital to Vitality’s success, building and maintaining software solutions to support our integrated business model and deliver seamless, intuitive customer journeys.Key Actions

• Implement the software development life cycle: build, maintain, test, deliver, release, and document software solutions.
• Write clean, secure, and well-tested software with method commentary.
• Complete all necessary documentation (e.g., support manuals, test and release notes).
• Investigate and fix faults, providing root cause analysis and recommendations.
• Carry out releases, troubleshoot, and provide support.
• Perform infrastructure maintenance tasks.
• Understand and apply architectural pattern designs.
• Translate design into code and document work using required standards.
• Design solutions with embedded security controls.
• Adhere to Vitality’s technical and process standards.
• Ensure solutions are user-focused, strategically aligned, and integrated across teams.
• Build and test software to meet design specifications.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and propose solutions.

What do you need to thrive?

• Demonstrable expertise 5+ years of experience in the use of appropriate tools/technologies for the design, development, build, testing & deployment of Java/JEE applications including;
• Demonstrable experience in integrating disparate applications and technologies using Java
• Experience with a range of modern web application frameworks and integration technologies
• Analytical skills to interpret complex relationships and data sets.
