Salary: Circa £57,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 to 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification and project phase.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
Key to this role is being a representative of MBDA within an Enterprise industry partnership, where there is an opportunity to collaborate across industry through events and workshops within a 3-nation programme!
As part of your role you will research proposals to help answer to the methodology behind defining and delivering software, covering all aspects of tools, techniques, standards, engineering management. You'd be working with UK universities and Small/Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to undertake research in support of current and future topics.
You will also have the opportunity to propose and sponsor projects within the Early Careers Programme (ECP) where the results will be published externally but also used to help embed any knowledge and technologies within MBDA.
Collaboration is key within the role both externally within the partnership and internally with key communities with regular engagement with technical experts, software architects and special interest groups. You will also have the opportunity to influence the Software Engineering technology strategy, identifying new technologies, new methods and tools, future capabilities.
What we're looking for from you:
Experience in leading research activities relating to the delivery of software
A breadth of Software Engineering experience
Able to prioritise research activities
Able to communicate clearly and precisely at different levels, including influencing collaborators and internal customers.
Support the governance of the organisation by producing or contributing to reports and presentations
Able to progress updates with the various universities/SMEs as required
Ability to find or create opportunities to share knowledge internally with Technical Experts, domain experts and Group Leads
Travel and occasional overnight stays will be required
