Our Plug Me In business unit focuses on installing cutting-edge energy-saving technologies such as EV charge points, heat pumps, and solar power. We are looking for an experienced Solicitor to provide legal support for the business during a 12-month maternity cover.

Role Overview

As a Solicitor, you will provide vital legal support across the Calisen group, focusing primarily on the Plug Me In business unit. You will handle complex contracts and commercial transactions, supporting the business with strategic decisions and business-as-usual (BAU) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the business on complex contracts and commercial transactions.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts related to the Plug Me In business unit.
• Research and provide legal support for new asset sectors and transaction structures.
• Draft intra-group documents, such as consent letters, minutes, and resolutions for corporate transactions.
• Supervise and provide support to paralegals/trainees within the legal team.

Requirements

Essential

• Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate.
• At least 4 years of post-qualified experience in private practice, advising on corporate or commercial transactions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to other business locations when needed.

Desirable

• Experience in the energy sector or working with carbon-reducing technologies such as EV charge points, heat pumps, or solar/battery storage.

This role requires a basic criminal record check, proof of eligibility to work in the UK, and suitable references covering the previous 5 years.
