Solution Architect - London Insurance Market - 6 Months - Outside IR35

Arrangements

• Contract: 6 months (initial)
• Location: Hybrid (London office, 2-3 days onsite)
• Rate: £700-800 per day (Outside IR35)

Overview

This role focuses on implementing and optimising existing Azure cloud architecture and integrating underwriting, pricing, and risk management tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Azure Architecture: Design and implement scalable, resilient Azure solutions for underwriting and catastrophe modelling.
• Underwriting Systems: Lead the integration of Verisk tools into underwriting workflows, improving efficiency and decision-making.
• Legacy Migration: Oversee the migration of legacy systems to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with underwriters, actuaries, and IT teams to align solutions with business objectives.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure that solutions comply with regulatory requirements (IFRS 17, GDPR) and follow best practices in data security.

Essential Skills

• Azure Expertise: Extensive experience with Azure cloud services (DevOps, Kubernetes, ARM templates).
• SQL Server: Strong experience with SQL Server for database management and data integration within underwriting systems.
• Verisk Toolset: Proficiency with integration/implementation of Verisk tools (Sequel, Tyche, Touchstone) for underwriting and risk management.
• Insurance Domain: Strong background in underwriting systems and catastrophe risk management, especially in the London Market.

Desirable Skills

• TOGAF Certified (or equivalent architecture frameworks)
• Exposure to Ardoq as an enterprise architecture management tool
• Experience with Guidewire or similar insurance platforms
