We're on the look out for a talented and organised Sous Chef to join our expanding kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, supervising kitchen teams, supporting the Head Chef and working in a faced paced envirnment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation activities.
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Help develop new menu items and specials that reflect current culinary trends.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork within the kitchen.
