Special Needs Assistant - Immediate Start - Secondary School in Haringey, North London

A well-regarded secondary school in Haringey, North London is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Assistant to join their team for an immediate start. The initial contract runs until Christmas, with the possibility of extending for the rest of the academic year based on performance.

This vibrant school has a supportive and experienced senior leadership team, creating a positive and dynamic atmosphere for staff and students alike. Recently rated "Good" by Ofsted, the school is highly regarded in the local community. It's conveniently located near a mainline rail station, offering excellent public transport links.

As a Special Needs Assistant, you will work with students with a range of special educational needs, primarily focusing on those with Autism and challenging behaviour. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting students in the classroom and during break times, helping them develop social skills.
• Providing behavioural support and offering strategies to help students manage challenging situations.

The school seeks a reliable, engaging role model who can make a real impact by supporting students both academically and socially. Some mainstream TA duties and lunch supervision may also be part of the role.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• Previous experience working with children with special needs, particularly Autism.
• A proactive, supportive approach to helping students overcome challenges.

• £90-95 per day, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
• Working hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
• The school is looking to trial candidates as soon as possible.
