SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Darwen, LancashireSalary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience)? Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

We are looking for a passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. You will provide essential support to students aged 10-19 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions, helping them succeed in a caring and inclusive environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be key to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with class teachers to help deliver personalised learning activities, promoting independence and positive behaviour, and ensuring each student reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and assessing lessons and learning activities.
  • Provide regular feedback on students' progress and development.
  • Monitor individual students and report progress in line with school policies.
  • Support behaviour management, adapting techniques to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage the social, emotional, and personal growth of students.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport).
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
  • Level 2 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Adaptable and creative approach to supporting students' individual needs.
