Are you a Study Skills tutor who is passionate about improving a student's academic journey?

Randstad Student Support are recruiting for Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to work with students who have specific learning difficulties studying at Lincoln University.

The role is set to begin at the start of the new academic year and is a face to face role. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the local University.

As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan that has been tailored to the student's needs and encourages them to become an independent learner.

As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you are required to support students to:Develop independenceBuild on strengths and learning strategiesCreate strategies around organisation and time managementCreate action plans to stay on track with studiesBuild on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sourcesDistinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use referencesBuild on comprehension skills within reading and writing

Whilst working for Randstad the needs of individual students should be taken into consideration case by case and you should ensure that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. It is expected that you would act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.

Requirements for the role:As this is a specialist role, you must have the correct qualifications and training. All students you will be supporting are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) meaning all candidates providing this role must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE.Candidates must be qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum), have a teaching qualification AND have taken extensive training in adult autism.The extensive training may include:6 National Autistic Society Modules (non medical helper package)

OR

The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.
