Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Trust: Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Location: Erleigh House University of Reading Earley Gate Reading RG6 6BZ

Grade/Band: 7

Ward: LD Management

Pay Rates: £25.60 per hour

Shift Patterns: 37.5 hrs - will consider shorter working week / compressed hours Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

What you will add:

  • You will be a source of expertise for the defined area of specialism and be able to support and develop colleagues working in the field and be a point of reference for colleagues and managers where advice may be requested/needed.
  • You will be skilled in the use of advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment programmes with individual clients who have complex needs (physical health, mental health and/or behaviour that challenges). You will be expected to work alongside other allied health professionals and external organisations within a focused multi-disciplinary team framework.
  • You will contribute to the development of service provision within their area of specialism alongside the Learning Disability Service operational team leads and professional leads. This includes ensuring best practice across the area of speciality and the service within Children, Families and All Age (CFAA) Division.

What you’ll need:

  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent
  • Registered with HCPC & licenced to practice
  • Registered member of the RCSLT
  • Post graduate dysphagia qualification (or willingness to undertake)
  • Evidence of successful, relevant post graduate study through CPD portfolio
  • Dysphagia competency
  • Relevant highly specialist experience post qualification in learning disability
  • At least 3 years post graduate study through CPD portfolio

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
