Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) - Central London School

Location: Central LondonJob Type: Full-time/Part-time (Term-Time Only)Salary: NHS Band 6, dependent on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our school-based team in Central London. This role involves working within a supportive educational environment, providing speech and language therapy services to children with a range of needs. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing students' communication skills, supporting their educational progress, and promoting their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) of students aged 4 to 18
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans to address communication challenges in collaboration with teachers and other support staff
  • Deliver one-to-one and group therapy sessions tailored to the needs of students with a range of conditions, including ASD, ADHD, developmental language disorders, and speech delays
  • Educate and train school staff and parents on communication strategies to support students’ learning and social development
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and evaluate treatment outcomes in line with NHS and school standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP reviews, and contribute to collaborative care planning for each student
Requirements:
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) with HCPC and RCSLT registration
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in pediatric settings, ideally within schools or community settings
  • Strong understanding of child development and a range of speech and language challenges common in school-age children
  • Experience with evidence-based therapy approaches and proficiency in delivering both direct and indirect interventions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Organized, proactive, and passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives
