Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist (Paediatric)- Band 6
Location: Swansea
Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week 8am - 4pm 30mins break
Start date: ASAP End date: Ongoing
Position Overview:
- B6 or B7 SLT to assess + diagnose children for ASD assessment
- SLT to assess patients jointly with Consultant Community Paediatrician
- Must be trained in ADOS modules 1,2+3,
- Will need at least 3 years experience. 3hr sessions, averaging 1 per week. onsite only
Job Purpose:To provide specialist speech and language therapy services to children with a variety of communication and swallowing difficulties, supporting their developmental progress and improving quality of life. The role involves assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and collaboration with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Responsibilities:Assessment & Diagnosis:
- Conduct detailed assessments of children’s speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities.
- Utilize standardized tools, clinical observations, and caregiver input for diagnosis.
Intervention & Therapy:
- Design and implement individualized therapy plans to address identified needs.
- Use evidence-based approaches to target speech, language, and communication difficulties.
- Provide interventions for swallowing/feeding issues when applicable.
