Statutory Reporting Accountant

We are seeking a Statutory Reporting Accountant to join a dynamic finance team within a privately-owned asset management group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance technical accounting experience across a diverse portfolio of assets, including real estate, hotels, fashion, finance, and various investments.
Day to Day of the role:
- Assist with the production of the main group consolidation and various subgroup consolidations.
- Manage the production of annual statutory accounts for over 50 entities
- Prepare 9 group statutory accounts and relevant disclosures.
- Manage external audits proactively to deliver audited accounts on time, including effective liaison with auditors.
- Prepare key balance sheet reconciliations and assist with annual statutory accounts and auditor queries at year-end.
- Document and develop departmental controls, processes, and procedures.
- Develop close working relationships with other departments and collaborate with other finance teams.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports as required by the Head of Statutory Reporting.
- Maintain and update the schedule of intercompany loan balances quarterly.
- Review group companies’ trial balances to aid the preparation of consolidated management and statutory accounts.
- Resolve queries during the quarterly consolidation process and highlight issues to the line manager.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, recommending and implementing changes as required.
- Document and maintain relevant process notes for the role.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified ACA or equivalent.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to conclude and make recommendations.
- Working knowledge of reporting systems preferred.
- Experience in the production of statutory accounts under FRS102; US GAAP and IFRS experience desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and systems skills; experience with SAPA, CaseWare, and Cognos consolidation advantageous.
- A confident, fast-learning, self-motivated, and proactive individual.
- Excellent communication skills and team working.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
