Job Title: Strategic Safeguarding Partnership ManagerSalary: £60,468 - £63,879 per annumRole Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Safeguarding Partnership Manager to lead the Haringey Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP). This role focuses on overseeing the operational delivery of HSCP, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children across Haringey. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing multi-agency safeguarding services, promoting inter-agency collaboration, and ensuring that local and national safeguarding practices are effectively implemented. This position will also involve leading projects and initiatives that amplify community voices, ensuring that service delivery is shaped by the needs and experiences of the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead business planning against priorities set by multi-agency safeguarding boards. Ensure the production and timely delivery of Annual Reports.
  • Policy and Research: Stay updated with Government policies, guidance, and research to ensure safeguarding practices are informed and current.
  • Partnership Management: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with multi-agency partners. Lead in ensuring the effective functioning of the safeguarding partnership.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Identify and monitor the progress of strategic initiatives across the partnership. Produce reports to monitor and improve inter-agency practice.
  • Safeguarding Processes: Coordinate statutory processes for safeguarding practice reviews, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance and procedures.
  • Audit and Standards: Contribute to audit processes and the setting of standards in multi-agency safeguarding practice.
  • Training Programmes: Oversee the development and delivery of multi-agency training programmes. Advise on the content of learning initiatives.
  • Operational Management: Provide operational line management to HSCP Business Unit staff. Ensure regular, high-quality supervision and performance appraisal for all staff.
  • Recruitment and Induction: Manage the recruitment, selection, induction, and probationary assessment of new staff in accordance with Council policies.
  • Cross-Borough Collaboration: Act as the point of contact for partnership managers in other boroughs on specific issues, such as cross-borough Serious Practice Reviews.
  • Financial Management: Contribute to financial arrangements and budget controls, ensuring partner agencies contribute towards the partnership's running costs.
  • Public Engagement: Publicise the work of the safeguarding partnership among partner agencies, the private, voluntary, and independent sectors, community groups, and the public through various media and presentations.
  • Digital Resources: Oversee the maintenance of the multi-agency working website, ensuring materials are current and relevant.
  • Complaint Resolution: Respond to complaints, Freedom of Information Act requests, and Member inquiries within agreed timescales.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all work aligns with the Council's policies, including Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety.
  • Generic Responsibilities:
    • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection, and other statutory requirements.
    • Equal Opportunities: Promote and implement the Council's Equal Opportunities policies.
    • IT Competence: Demonstrate competence in using IT systems relevant to the role.
    • Additional Duties: Undertake temporary responsibilities as aligned with the role's purpose and grade.
    Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
    • Leadership Experience: At least five years of post-qualification experience in a statutory safeguarding partnership organisation such as children's services, health, police, or education.
    • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Demonstrable experience in multi-agency working, with the ability to influence and develop relationships with senior managers across various agencies.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think and act strategically, promoting the aims of the Council and Service.
    • Policy and Legal Knowledge: Detailed understanding of safeguarding children, the legal framework, and inter-agency work.
    • Project Management: Proven ability to coordinate projects, manage resources, and deliver outcomes within set timescales.
    • Training and Development: Experience in commissioning or delivering training on safeguarding issues to multi-agency groups.
    Additional Information:
    • Management Responsibility: Manage a team of up to five staff members.
    • Work Environment: Predominantly office-based, with extensive use of a computer.
