Join our Highways Service team as a Structures Contract Officer, where you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing contracts related to highway structures. Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide leadership in resource planning, procurement, and commissioning to ensure cost-effective and efficient service delivery.
- Manage all aspects of contract or service agreements, leading strategic reviews to ensure services are fit for purpose.
- Ensure effective commercial performance management and continuous improvement against key performance indicators and service level agreements.
- Offer expert advice to stakeholders within the organisation to ensure robust commercial processes and strategies are in place.
- Implement systems for contract review and consult stakeholders on service development and direction.
- Deliver high-quality analysis of current market conditions and potential changes, collaborating with stakeholders to develop a stable and efficient market.
- Advocate for the organisation’s people approach and manage resources to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in Structural Engineering / Civil Engineering at degree level.
- Membership of a relevant Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering body.
- Extensive knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, the Model Contract for Highway Works, and relevant codes of practice.
- Experience in asset management of highway structures, including inspection, maintenance, assessment, design, and construction.
- Proficiency in Bridge Management Systems and other relevant IT tools.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex projects and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with various stakeholders.
