Job DetailsJob Title:Student Travel & Support CoordinatorDepartment:Finance Campus:Havant / South DownsSalary:Grade 4 Spine Point 17 - £30,542.55Contract Type:Permanent / Fulltime About the RoleHSDC are looking for a student travel and support coordinator. The main purpose of the role is to administer the travel and support schemes offered by the College. You will be responsible for the College’s childcare scheme and vulnerable bursary for Alton campus students and will arrange all bus and train travel for financially supported students. The role is student facing and you will be dealing with a variety of queries daily.Responsibilities You will be responsible for:
- Responsible for Line Managing the Student Travel and Support Advisers. To provide training and guidance to the team on all changes to the Travel & Support Schemes, Student Finance system and funding guidelines (including changes to accepted benefits).
- To have an understanding of ESFA, Bursary and FSM funding guidelines. Responsible for ensuring that all financial provision offered meets the guidelines.
- To continually review, and tailor the Student Travel & Support Policy in line with funding regulations and benchmarking against competitor Colleges.
- Responsibility to lead, develop and maintain the Student Finance system on Unite
- Negotiate with bus companies the routes for travel to college including the preparation of budgets to incorporate bus and train pass subsidy and direct route costs. Maintain a strong working relationship with bus and train companies.
- To lead in the co-ordination of the College travel scheme, to meet specific needs of stakeholders (including ensuring bus and train passes are ordered in a timely manner so they are ready for collection).To co-ordinate bus subsidy refunds, requesting relevant information from bus companies and assessing eligibility. Requesting information from students/parents and collating information for payment.
Requirements You will need:
- Qualified to at least level 2 in Maths and English
- Qualified to at least Level 3 (A Levels, NVQ)
- A recognised finance qualification (e.g. AAT intermediate) at or above level 3
- Customer Service Skills
- Proven experience in the creation and use of Excel for data entry and budget management.
- Knowledge of college IT systems.
- Access to a car to travel to all three campuses.
