Regulated - You will lead the Supervision and Competency Oversight team, providing regulatory supervision over our financial planning population and their adherence to the firm's Training and Competency scheme and the overarching control environment.
- Whilst this isn't a directly customer facing role, the duties you will perform will contribute to the overall positive outcomes for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- By leading a team of Supervision and Oversight specialists, you will oversee and be responsible for the overall delivery of the key commitments outlined in the firm's Training and Competency scheme, for example ensuring the monitoring of Financial Planner KRIs, carrying out observations and holding 1:1 meetings takes place to the required standard.
- As well as managing workflow and capacity for your team, you will ensure that team members receive appropriate training and coaching, as well as adequate supervision and monitoring, to enable them to fulfil their tasks, meet required Company standards and enable them to achieve personal objectives.
- You will be yourself be responsible for directly carrying out supervision and oversight for some Financial Planners.
- You will help identify trends and any risks where policy and processes could be improved, including identifying any thematic issues where there may be a developmental need across the financial planning community.
- You will support the QC T&C team in ensuring that all underlying T&C documentation is appropriate and fit for purpose, and support in any T&C change projects.
- You will develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- You will ensure management are up to date and informed of any competency matters and oversee that the management of advisers who are not performing against the firm's competence and conduct expectations is appropriate, for example by ensuring that development plans are in place and providing escalation where relevant.
About You - You will have proven experience of providing supervisory support to regulated individuals with financial services, including carrying out skills observations/assessments.
- You will have experience of leading and developing others
- You will have in depth knowledge of financial services and the regulatory environment, in particular in relation to Financial Planning regulations
- Knowledge of the Certification regime.
- You will have strong coaching and assessment skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work in matrix environments.
- Able to display sound judgement when making recommendations.
- Attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Diploma qualified level 4 in Financial Advice
- CF6 (or equivalent is desirable)
- ER1 (or equivalent is desirable)
- CF8 (or equivalent)
- AF7 (or equivalent is desirable)
- Advanced Diploma / Chartered level 6 in Financial Advice (desirable)
