My Client, a well-established food distributor now has an excellent opportunity for a Supply Planner to join their friendly team based in Lancashire.
Job Purpose:
This role is an exciting opportunity to manage the supply chain of a product category. You will be responsible for accurate stock management planning and forecasting, managing optimum stock levels, to ensure availability and profit targets are delivered. Working closely with the senior buyer in your area, you will analyse range performance, launch new products, and deliver long term improvements in availability and waste.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively driving sales and availability through effective forecasting and inventory planning, raising daily purchase orders with suppliers
- Accountable for availability and waste in your category area
- Effective communication and relationship building with operational, I.T and sales teams to ensure optimum stock management at every stage of the supply chain
- Build and maintain supplier relationships ensuring delivery accuracy, on time and in full, with regular supplier service reviews
- Responsible for managing and maintaining accuracy of all product and supplier data in the system
- Implement best practice for optimising product life with suppliers
- Work with logistics team to plan optimum supplier deliveries and collections across UK and Europe with responsibility for cost management of supplier deliveries
- Work with senior buyer to ensure smooth product launches and event planning e.g. Christmas
- In produce supply planning you will have daily responsibility for any daily fluctuations in pricing and ensuring daily data accuracy in the system
Skills Required:
- Supply chain experience in hospitality or food retail.
- Good level of Maths and numeracy skills.
- Analytical and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel
- Owner mentality with demonstrated experience of continuous improvement and implementing process change
- Strong stakeholder management skills and excellent communication
- Proactive with the ability to drive own development and the team around them
