Support WorkerFull Time, Permanent£30,559 - £31,317Location: Exeter An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join a specialist care team. In this role, you will offer guidance and support to young people living in supported accommodation, helping them develop the skills needed to move toward independence. Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support sessions to young people in placement.
  • Help young people manage daily living tasks, including access to education, training, or employment.
  • Facilitate personal development through goal-setting and planning.
  • Attend admission, planning, and review meetings to advocate for young people’s needs.
  • Complete person-centred reports and maintain care plans.
  • Support health and safety procedures, including property inspections and coordinating repairs.
  • Manage and administer weekly financial payments to young people, ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Work closely with external agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Safeguard young people by following relevant policies and regulations.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Experience working in care or support settings with children, young people, or adults.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, empathize, and build rapport.
  • Good communication skills for both verbal and written reports.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., The Children Act 1989 & 2004, The Care Act 2014).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Driving license (preferred, but not essential)
  • A calm, reliable, and motivated approach to supporting young people.
