Property Surveyor - Full-Time PositionLocation: Office-based, working across the city as required by the serviceHours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week (9 AM - 5 PM)Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella)Reporting To: Senior Property Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

You will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing housing standards, with responsibilities including:

  • Property Inspections: Regularly inspect external and communal areas to identify reactive repairs and cyclical maintenance needs, ensuring works are carried out efficiently.
  • Collaborative Work: Partner with colleagues across Housing Services to improve quality and customer satisfaction for residents.
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide insights into investment needs, support repairs contract delivery, and contribute to the overall leadership of housing services.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, providing expertise in construction-related safety laws.
  • Complaint Resolution: Manage and resolve resident complaints effectively, ensuring documentation is thorough and timely.
  • Insurance & Section 20 Compliance: Monitor insured peril claims and maintain detailed records for pre- and post-inspections.
What You'll Do Day-to-Day
  • Conduct property inspections (both pre- and post-works), upload findings via Site Audit Pro, and provide detailed diagnostics with photos.
  • Oversee contractor payment approvals (up to £1,500 per job) and manage post-inspection processes.
  • Proactively handle requests for contract or cost variations and maintain Section 20 paperwork.
  • Deliver clear and timely communication to residents, ensuring all inspections and reports are documented within service-level agreements.
What We're Looking ForExperience & Knowledge
  • Essential:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in responsive repairs, ideally within housing.
    • Excellent building pathology knowledge.
    • Proven track record in delivering high standards of customer service.
    • Degree in Building Surveying

  • Strong IT proficiency and ability to manage systems like Orchard and SharePoint.
