Mission
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this new role will have direct responsibility for leading, empowering and motivating a growing team of Systems Engineers for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Responsibility will span concept to customer commissioning and field trials, and through the application of best-practice engineering ensure on time delivery, within strategic operational budget and to specification. With responsibility for implementing the systems engineering strategy, work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, team leaders, project managers, manufacturing, service, and customer representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Systems Engineering Efforts: Manage and oversee Systems Engineering activities across key projects, from planning through to completion.
- Strategy Development: Establish and implement an ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2023-compliant systems engineering strategy.
- Best Practice Advocacy: Promote the adoption of Systems Engineering best practices in line with INCOSE Handbook (v5) across all applicable projects.
- Compliance and Maturity Alignment: Ensure ISO 15288:2023 compliance aligns with CMMI maturity levels.
- Budget and Resource Management: Oversee and manage budgets, supporting accurate future forecasting.
- Requirements Management: Lead the development of Stakeholder to Product-level Requirements, including functional diagramming and validation/verification planning.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Guide and support assigned engineers and teams through SMART objectives, regular check-ins, and one-on-ones to achieve project milestones.
- Technical Expertise: Leverage your extensive experience to offer guidance to engineers, fostering skill development through formal and informal mentoring.
Experience & SkillsQualifications/Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent (required); Master's Degree preferred.
- Chartered Engineer (required) or actively working toward registration.
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) (preferred).
Experience
- 10+ years of practical Systems Engineering experience in a relevant industry.
- Proven experience implementing Systems Engineering approaches within a business setting.
- Skilled in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for Systems Engineering roles.
