Job Title: Tax Accountant - Birmingham - Financial Services

Department: Tax

Key Relationships: Finance team, industry regulatory bodies, underwriters, tax authorities, tax consultants, and auditors.

Position Overview: This role involves supporting tax compliance and advisory services under the guidance of the Direct Tax Managers, playing a critical part in the team's success.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and filing corporate tax returns for various group entities.
• Handle corporate tax payments across European regions.
• Contribute to tax accounting and financial reporting at both entity and consolidated levels.
• Support various finance and tax-related projects.
• Prepare and submit tax reports for industry-specific entities both in the UK and internationally.
• Help refine tax compliance systems, processes, and controls.
• Perform ad-hoc accounting and tax-related tasks, including coordinating and gathering data for internal reports.
• Provide additional support to Tax Managers in other taxation areas when needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
• Capable of managing time effectively to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.

Experience and Knowledge:

• A university degree in finance, business, or accounting is preferred.
• Relevant tax/accounting qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CTA.
