My client is seeking a Tax Specialist to join their leading global biotech company. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in tax compliance and reporting, and who is looking for opportunities to be involved in advisory aspects. The Tax Specialist will work closely with both local and global teams, as well as external tax advisers, to ensure all tax processes are managed effectively.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the management of direct and indirect tax compliance processes, including corporation tax, VAT, and plastics tax, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Oversee the monthly group and annual statutory accounts reporting process as it relates to tax.
- Assist with tax enquiries or queries from HMRC.
- Provide tax guidance, advice, and support across all taxes to the business and wider organisation.
- Prepare and submit the annual PSA with assistance from an external provider.
- Engage in various ad hoc tasks, projects, and transactions, including tax governance-related issues.
- Implement global tax policies, including transfer pricing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a multinational company within a tax function or finance area with exposure to taxes, or from an accounting and tax services advisory firm.
- Professional qualifications in accounting and/or tax.
- Good understanding of corporation tax and VAT.
- Experience in transfer pricing, UK R&D, and Irish taxes would be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently within guidelines and policies, with minimal guidance.
