About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join their established tax practice in Manchester. As a Corporate Tax Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advisory services to their diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses to large corporate entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, overseeing compliance work and reviewing corporate tax returns
- Provide proactive tax planning advice and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients
- Lead and deliver corporate tax advisory projects including restructuring, due diligence, and R&D tax credit claims
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor on tax matters
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members
- Assist in business development activities and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Liaise with HMRC on complex technical matters and client enquiries
- Stay current with tax legislation changes and assess their impact on clients
Requirements
- ACA, CTA, or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate taxation, with at least 2 years at manager level
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
- Experience with tax software systems and digital tax compliance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly
- Proven team management and leadership experience
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify business development opportunities
Desirable Skills
- Experience in a Top 50 or similar accountancy practice
- Knowledge of international tax planning and cross-border transactions
- Sector specialization (e.g., technology, manufacturing, real estate)
- Experience with tax advisory projects and restructuring
- Ability to contribute to the firm's growth strategy
