Tax Senior (Personal and Corporate Tax)

Barber McLelland is working as a recruitment partner for one of Sheffield's leading firms of accountants. The firm is looking to recruit an ambitious mixed tax professional for the role of tax senior.

The firm has developed an excellent reputation within the South Yorkshire region as a highly-regarded employer coupled with being a successful and forward-thinking, modern accountancy practice.

The successful individual will be part of an experienced team of tax specialists and will be responsible for delivering a high-quality compliance service to a varied client portfolio, which includes High Networth Individuals, Directors and Self-Employed individuals, duties will also include:

Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years mixed tax experience and be qualified ATT/CTA or ACCA/ACA along with strong general tax compliance experience. Duties will include:

• Assist the firms Tax Manager in managing a varied portfolio of private and personal tax clients
• Preparation of personal tax returns
• Review of corporation tax returns prepared by accounts team
• Carrying out compliance work and working on ad-hoc advisory work (supporting Manager and Partners)
• Dealing with HMRC enquiries
• Assists Personal Tax Department to deliver an effective, all-round tax service to clients including IHT, PAYE and NIC
• Dealing with technical queries from all sectors of the firm

Skills and Qualities

Applicants will be CTA/CIOT or ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 4 years experience working within both a tax advisory and compliance environment.

Applications are also encouraged from individuals who have decided not to sit formal taxation or accountancy qualifications but have developed the required level of experience.
