We have a fantastic opening at a vibrant independent school in Islington, where you’ll teach students across Key Stages 2 and 3. While experience in teaching piano is not essential, it would be an asset to the role, enhancing your ability to engage students in practical music learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging music lessons that cover various musical genres, theory, and performance.
• Foster a love of music by using innovative teaching methods to engage students in both practical and theoretical aspects.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth in music.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
• Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve the music curriculum and share best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in teaching piano is not essential, it would be advantageous
• A passionate and creative Music Teacher who is dedicated to inspiring students.
• Ability to teach across Key Stages 2 and 3, with a focus on engaging students in the joy of music.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A registered teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS/QTLS) for primary or secondary education.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure (subject to checks).
• A degree in Music or a relevant subject area.
• Previous experience teaching music at the primary or secondary level.
• Ability to teach a broad range of music topics, including theory and practical music skills.
