Teaching Assistant - Year 6 Support for SEMH and Emotional Needs

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

• Offer 1:1 and group support to pupils with SEMH and emotional needs, fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere.
• Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored strategies that promote emotional well-being and positive behaviour.
• Engage proactively with pupils, encouraging participation and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
• Use your initiative to adapt and respond effectively to the needs of the class.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and a source of encouragement.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant:

• Previous teaching assistant experience supporting children with SEMH or emotional needs is highly desirable.
• A confident, assertive, and nurturing teaching assistant who can handle challenges with patience and determination.
• Ability to quickly adapt to a classroom environment and take a hands-on approach.
• Must have an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one through Reeson Education.
