About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join one of our vibrant secondary schools in Bradford. Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a secondary school setting.
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support students and collaborate with staff.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to diverse student needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to provide behavioural and emotional support to students.
- Creativity and initiative in supporting classroom activities and interventions.
- Strong behaviour management strategies.
- Knowledge of child development and the ability to support learning at different stages.
- Understanding of health and safety protocols in an educational environment.
- First aid trained (desirable).
- Safeguarding knowledge and understanding of relevant child protection procedures.
- Experience working with children with complex needs (SEND) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
- Provide small group interventions and one-to-one support for students with additional needs, including SEND.
- Assist with marking and providing feedback on students' work as directed by the teacher.
- Support behaviour management both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of creative educational activities to engage all students.
- Record students' progress, behaviour, and any strategies used to support their learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the best possible support for each student.
- Engage in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge.
