The Teaching Assistant JobWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with young students with a diagnosis of autism and some with more complex needs. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. If you have patience, creativity, and a desire to make a real impact in the lives of these pupils, we would be happy to hear from you!

• Based in Bromley this fantastic school is a friendly and well respected in the local community with students across the school ages 4-19 across three different sites.
• Pupils from Bromley and across surrounding areas who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, that is tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties and tailored to them.
• Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as an SEN teaching assistant for children with varied needs.
• You will be working with skilled SEN Teachers and Teaching Assistant's in a classroom environment

The Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

• Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
• Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
• Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons
• Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
• Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
• Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment

The Teaching Assistant Applicant

The ideal Teaching Assistant applicant will be have the following qualities:

• Enjoyment of working with young people
• Will have experience working with students either in mainstream or SEN schools
• Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils

• The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
