Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Year 5 - Primary School in Haringey - ASAP Start

A primary school in Haringey is looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil who has experienced trauma and presents behavioural challenges. This Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone with strong behaviour management skills and a passion for sports, as engaging the child in football and outdoor activities will be a key part of the role.

Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 behavioural support to a Year 5 pupil, encouraging engagement and focus.
• Use sports and outdoor activities to help the child develop positive behaviours.
• Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored behaviour strategies.
• Foster a supportive and structured learning environment to promote emotional well-being.

Ideal Candidate for the Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Role:

• Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting behavioural needs.
• A sports background or strong interest in using sports as a behaviour management tool.
• Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
