Teaching Assistant- Lancaster - Randstad Education : Job Details

Are you a Level 2 or 3 qualified Teaching Assistant with primary classroom experience? Are you ready to connect with new schools and advance your career? If you're available to start in January 2025, we're looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant for ad hoc work in Lancaster, with availability from Monday to Friday. The hourly rate for this role is £13-£14.

In this role, you will support with tasks such as taking registers, assisting with reading and writing in small groups, supervising breaks, preparing resources, and supporting the teacher. You may also work with small groups or provide 1:1 support for students needing extra help. Roles will be matched based on your experience and preferences.

Your Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

• Collaborate with children individually or in small groups to enhance their learning.
• Serve as a positive role model for both students and colleagues.
• Foster positive relationships with children and their families.
• Collaborate with fellow staff members, including specialists.
• Assist the class teacher in resource preparation and activity setup.

Responsibilities:

• Help prepare a lesson and tidy the classroom afterwards
• Provide assistance with lesson plans
• Support children across the curriculum
• Give extra support to children with special needs
• Help mark work
• Report student progress
• Help look after the children during school trips and activities
• Look after children that are unwell
• Attend meetings
• Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups.
• A positive attitude and effective communication skills.

Essential requirements:

• Experience working with young people
• Class management skills
• Comfortable managing challenging behaviour
• Able to engage with and motivate children
• TA Qualified
