Your new companyA school in North Liverpool is looking for an experienced, dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child in year 2. The school is looking to appoint someone until at least August 25, but this may be extended, dependent on the child staying and funding. Your new role
- Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model
- Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs ensuring effective interaction
- Provide specific support to pupils, dependent upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
- Promote self-esteem and independence
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance and direction of the teacher
- Be familiar with the school assessment policy
- Assist with the display of children's work
- In liaison with the teacher, utilise strategies to support pupils in achieving learning goals
- Establish positive relationships with parents/carers
- Prepare and maintain resources required for the learning environment
What you'll need to succeedThe school is looking for someone who:
- Is enthusiastic and committed to making a difference
- Has a proven record of working with children in Key Stage 1
- Is organised, efficient and able to work in a busy environment
- Has a high expectation of care for all children and an understanding of school safeguarding requirements
- Has excellent communication skills at all levels, is a team player, has a desire to raise standards and a sense of humour.
