Teaching Assistant with lunch and afterschool cover

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team as soon as possible. The role involves providing valuable support during lunchtime and after school across all year groups, whilst working with nursery and Key Stage 1 children during 1pm - 3.30pm. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about contributing to the development and learning of young children in a supportive school environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Supervise and interact with children during lunchtime to ensure a safe and positive dining experience.
- Provide classroom support to teachers in nursery and Key Stage 1, assisting with the delivery of learning activities.
- Support the emotional and social development of pupils, encouraging engagement and participation.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, promoting positive behaviour and discipline.
- Contribute to the after-school programme by engaging children in various educational and recreational activities.
- Work closely with the teaching staff to monitor the progress of children and provide feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with nursery and Key Stage 1 children is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A patient, caring, and creative approach to working with children.
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
